Supporting the world's bravest.Job ResponsibilitiesMonitor department policies and procedures and recommend improvements; consult with the Senior Management team; participate in establishing and implementing major goals and objectives; and serve as a resource in all aspects of accountingManage the preparation of daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements and tax reportsEnsure that external document submissions and filings are accurate and timelyEnsure that accounting records and reports are in compliance with GAAP and government regulationsMay serve as a liaison between the company and external auditors and regulatory authoritiesComplete reports and analyses of departmental and area operations as requested by senior managementConduct cost analysis, ratio and trend analysis, and other comparative examinations as appropriateReview, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports (i.e., annual financial forecasts); provide reports required by governmental regulationsManage the assignment, direction, and evaluation of personnel to ensure efficient operationsEnsure accurate internal and external recording and reporting of financial transactionsEnsure that accounting activities are in accordance with established legal, regulatory, and Company proceduresEstablish accounting plans, goals, and policies that are consistent with established company-wide goalsEnsure that policies are in accordance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, and industry trendsSupport, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organizationPerform special assignments as requested by senior managementMentor staffQualificationsBachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA or Master's degree is preferred.7+ years of accounting required.2+ years working in accounting in a defense environment.2+ years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.2+ years of SOX experience required.Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and proceduresUnderstanding of governmental regulations and reporting requirementsTaking care of our people is a top priority at Leonardo DRS.
