Its Distilling Solutions segment provides bourbons whiskeys ryes gins and vodkas to craft and multinational brands. MGPs own Branded Spirts business is growing following the 2021 acquisition of Luxco a top spirits producer bottler supplier and importer as well as the 2023 acquisition of Penelope Bourbon known for its wide range of uniquely blended expressions. The company operates in locations across the Midwestern U.S. and overseas in Northern Ireland and Mexico.THE OPPORTUNITYAssist the Corporate Controller in overseeing the companys accounting financial reporting treasury budgeting and forecasting activities to ensure accurate timely and compliant financial results. Lead and develop the accounting team including AP and AR staff while managing month-end close internal controls audits and financial systems. Support decision-making by analyzing financial performance managing fixed assets and ensuring strong operational and cross-functional partnerships.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:Financial Close & General Ledger Management Oversee monthly quarterly and annual closePrepare and review and make necessary edits to journal entries accruals allocations assessmentsOpen/close SAP periods and maintain GL accuracyReview payroll SG&A fixed asset rebate commission and royalty postingsFinancial Reporting & Analysis Prepare internal monthly reporting packages and related schedulesSupport external financial reportingAnalyze results and provide insights to business partnersBudgeting Forecasting & SG&A Management Coordinate monthly SG&A forecast and annual budgetReview variances and partner with department leadersSupport long-range financial planningInternal Controls Compliance & Audit Support Coordinate internal and external audit activitiesMaintain documentation and testing supportMonitor internal controls and process complianceFixed Assets & Capital Projects Review CARs and additionsReconcile capital project spending and fixed asset reportingSupport capitalized interest calculationsLeadership Team Development & Cross-Functional SupportMonitor mentor coach and support AP AR and accounting teamOversee daily work assignments workload balancing and performance feedbackDevelop team capabilities technical skills and organizational effectivenessSupport onboarding training and career development o the accounting teamFoster collaboration with Finance Operations IT Tax and commercial teamsSpecial Projects & Technical AccountingSupport M&A system enhancements and policy developmentPrepare technical accounting research as neededWHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business or related field requiredMBA with an accounting emphasis preferredCPA requiredExperience with Microsoft Excel Word and OutlookExperience in SAP preferred but not required3 years in Public Accounting requiredExperience in private sector preferredStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAble to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesAdvanced knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and financial reportingDemonstrated integrity professionalism and sound ethical judgmentDelivers accurate high-quality work within required deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present clear recommendationsExceptional computer skills to include being proficient in Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn new financial systemsKnowledge of cost accounting and standard costingCollaborative responsive and team-orientedStrong work ethic and commitment to continuous improvementPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
