Job DescriptionJob DescriptionRobert Half Management Resources is currently looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to support a manufacturing client in the Columbus, Ohio area. The interim Assistant Controller/Controller will be the primary accounting support for one plant in the Columbus area. Role will execute and oversee all month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, inventory, and coordinate with external tax and audit partners. Role is expected to last through at least mid-Feb, with opportunity for extension and potential contract to hire. Role is 100% onsite at the client's location just outside Columbus, OH.Responsibilities:• Manage month-end closing activities, including preparing and reviewing journal entries.• Compile and organize financial data to support external tax preparation processes.• Contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting efforts.• Oversee inventory accounting and audits to ensure proper management and documentation.• Utilize advanced Excel skills to analyze and present data effectively.• Collaborate with other finance professionals to ensure alignment across multiple locations.• Work onsite to address immediate needs and provide hands-on support.• Assist in maintaining general ledger accuracy and compliance.• Adapt to company-specific systems and processes to meet operational goals.• A minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management.• Strong proficiency in month-end close processes and journal entries.• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.• Familiarity with inventory accounting and audit procedures.• Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.• Knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is advantageous.• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
