The Virginia Department of Social Services has an exciting opportunity to join our team as the new Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Local Engagement!!The Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Local Engagement reports to the Principal Deputy Commissioner and participates as a member of the Leadership Team to fulfill division and agency objectives as established by the Commissioner Principal Deputy Commissioner and the Executive Team. The Assistant Deputy Commissioner is accountable for the direction management and administration of the local department of social services engagement teams which include Local Engagement and Support Local Training and Development Office of Continuous Quality Improvement and the Office of Trauma and Resilience Policy. This position oversees multiple divisions responsible for ensuring that numerous federal and state regulations procedures and policies are accurately administered by local departments of social services. The Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Local Engagement is responsible for the strategic direction operational leadership and administrative oversight of these divisions. This position is responsible for ensuring agency programs meet benchmarks and mandated performance outcomes set by federal and state programs along with Department goals. This position serves as a key advisor to the Principal Deputy Commissioner and acts for the Principal Deputy Commissioner or Commissioner within delegated authorities. This position is responsible for working closely with other Assistant Deputy Commissioners in the alignment of core programs in the Department. Extensive experience in the administration or management of macro-level human services programs. Considerable leadership experience in leading change management initiatives and driving results strategic planning supervising staff and managing cross-functional teams. Extensive experience in fiscal management resource development and maintenance and program planning.
