This individual will assist with the planning and management of the center's emergency response and will act in place of the Associate Director for Crisis and Emergency Resource Center in that person's absence. This individual will also serve as the coordinator and provide direct oversight for CWC's Consultation and Referral Team (CART). The Assistant Director for CERC reports to the Associate Director for CERC and works closely with the Associate and Assistant Directors for Clinical Services in the coordination of CART functions. This person serves in a key administrative role responsible for training, planning, and providing leadership for all aspects of CART. While this role does not include direct supervisory responsibilities for clinical staff, this person may hold supervisory duties for trainees and unlicensed CART counselors. This role works collaboratively with CWC's support staff, case managers, leadership team, and clinical faculty, assisting in policy drafting and planning. This person is responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with other clinical faculty and University of Florida departments to ensure that brief consultation and referral appointments, walk-in crisis counseling, and consultation with faculty and staff are compatible with other campus efforts and meeting the needs of University of Florida (UF) students. In addition to specific administrative duties, the person in this role is expected to meet direct service requirements. The percentages below reflect approximate allocations and may be adjusted based on student and operational needs. Essential Functions Program Oversight Manage daily clinical and administrative operations for the CART program Train new CART counselors in consultation, crisis intervention, and referral service Provide ongoing support for CART counselors Oversee waitlist management to ensure timely access to CWC services Coordinate schedules to maintain adequate coverage for on-call services and brief consultation and referrals (BCR) appointments throughout the year Provide clinical supervision to unlicensed CART counselors and trainees Collaborate with the CWC Associate Director for Training to oversee the training of doctoral interns and post-doctoral fellows in brief consultation, referral, and crisis services Direct Clinical Service Conduct BCR appointments to assist students in identifying needed services and resources Provide consultation to clinicians, students, faculty, and stakeholders related to crisis and emergency needs Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement Partner with SHCC psychiatry and UF stakeholders to ensure smooth inter-departmental processes Serve as a secondary member of campus interdisciplinary teams related to crisis response, including the Emergency Operations Team and the Behavioral Concerns and Threat Assessment Team Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to support and enhance clinical operations Fulfill administrative and committee responsibilities Emergency Preparedness Assist the Associate Director of Crisis and Emergency Resource Center in the planning and implementation of CWC's emergency preparedness initiatives and protocol development Support the clinical aspects of the university's crisis response, including emergency shelter operations during weather-related or other emergency events Non-Essential Functions Perform other duties as assigned or required Additional Responsibilities This individual assists with leading the CWC's crisis response and performs the duties of the Associate Director for CERC in that person's absence. This includes participation on the university's Behavioral Consultation Team and Emergency Operations Team. This position engages in after-hours consultation, support, and service. This position is expected to support the Division of Student Life's All Hands-on Deck activities minimally once a year. About the Counseling and Wellness Center Mental health services at the University of Florida have historically held a strong importance and distinction in the campus community. The CWC is one of the oldest counseling centers in the country, established in 1931. The CWC is a vibrant, multidisciplinary and creative center, actively engaged in the furtherance and betterment of compassionate and trauma-informed psychological services, outreach, and training. The CWC is a dynamic part of the Division of Student Life and is highly utilized by students and other campus constituents seeking a variety of mental health services. Our clinical team consists of 47 clinicians in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and counselor education; 10 mental health counselors serving as CART specialists and three mental health counselors serving as clinical case managers. In addition, the psychiatry staff of the Student Health Care Center shares one of our facilities. CWC is home to a large training program for graduate students in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education and a doctoral psychology internship accredited by the American Psychological Association. Members of our staff are cohesive, collegial, engaged, and share a passion for working in collegiate mental health. The CWC is a learning organization as clinical service, training, outreach, and professional development are informed by research, local data, and benchmarking with national trends and peer institutions. The CWC identifies closely with the vision, values, and guiding principles of the Division of Student Life. The CWC provides: Group, individual, and couples counseling for students with psychological, emotional, academic and/or relationship concerns Crisis intervention for students experiencing a personal crisis or emergency Stress management and biofeedback services Outreach, prevention, and educational programs for students, faculty, and staff Consultation services for students, faculty, staff, families, and friends of students Training and supervision to counseling, psychology, and graduate students from pre-practicum through post-doctoral residency Assessment and referral services Teaching, research, and scholarship Expected Salary: Starting at $93,000 - negotiable based on qualifications and experienceMinimum Requirements: The successful candidate should (1) have a master's degree or doctoral degree in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, counseling, or a related field; (2) should be licensed in their current jurisdiction of practice and must be license eligible in Florida; and (3) be a Qualified Supervisor for Mental Health Registered Interns in the state of Florida. Preferred Qualifications: Have five years of post-degree clinical/counseling experience Previous administrative and/or leadership experience in a university or college counseling center Experience in crisis assessment and management Strong interest and experience with training and supervising staff and students from various disciplines Strong communication and interpersonal skills, critical thinking and organizational skills required to develop and maintain policies, procedures, and outreach delivery systems for the agency Demonstrated skill in working well under pressure to prioritize and manage multiple clinical, emergency, and/or consultation situations and to coordinate these efforts as a part of a multidisciplinary team Energy to flexibly manage the professional demands of a challenging workload while maintaining positive and healthy perspectives and relationships Strong program development and evaluation skills required for CART service tracking, outcome assessment, quality assurance and utilization review Self-motivated, self-directed commitment to high professional ideals, standards, and ethics Special Instructions to Applicants: Persons interested in applying for this position should apply online at https://jobs.ufl.edu.
