Summary Of PositionThe Assistant Director of Housekeeping serves as a vital member of the Housing Leadership Team. The Assistant Director is a key player in leading a mission and values driven organization serving an on campus student population of approximately 6400 students in 40 buildings and 1.8 million square feet. The position includes developmental supervision of 6 full time professional team leads. The Assistant Director is responsible for: development and administering housekeeping services for the residence halls; setting and reinforcing operational policies and procedures for staff; budget preparation and administration of approximately 3 million dollars; developing recruitment and retention programs for staff; supporting staff; creating training programs for staff; procurement of supplies and equipment.Other Minimum Qualifications3 years of housekeeping management experience. Working knowledge of housekeeping program development and planning. Knowledge of safety/ OSHA standards. Experience with inventory control. Software skills: proficient with Microsoft Office suite. Financial analysis skills related to housekeeping management. Purchasing and procurement experience is necessary. A valid drivers license.Additional Preferred QualificationsPosition prefers candidates with strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish languages. 3-5 years full-time supervisory experience in higher education. Highly effective interpersonal communication skills in 1 on 1 and group settings and as a presenter / trainer; demonstrated commitment to diversity equity inclusion and belonging. Ability to effectively communication and connect with individuals with lived experience different than their own. Strong organizational planning analytic and problem-solving skills; demonstrated crisis management skills; excellent judgment and ability to handle challenging conversations with students staff collaborators and student family members; demonstrated experience effectively training professional and student staff in multiple topic areas.
