The Assistant Director reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Undergraduate Research and Prestigious Fellowships and be responsible for all aspects of managing this program including recruiting and selecting students and teaching the Introduction to Research courses. Summary of responsibilities: Manage all sections of the LEARN ProgramCoordinate between the varying LEARN cohorts (STEM and HSS)Refine course materials related to the Introduction to Research I and II coursesTeach two sections of each of the Fall and Spring STEM coursesGrade course materials and administering assessments related to the course and programMarketing recruiting and selecting participants and peer mentors for all LEARN cohortsTrain and mentor student Peer Mentors associated with all LEARN cohortsAssist students in finding faculty research mentorsMentor students regarding academic professional and research resources internal and external to FAUDevelop and host out-of-classroom academic and social events to facilitate cohort community buildingServe as a liaison between LEARN program staff students and mentors and OURIWork with internal (e.g. Kelly Strull Career Center University Honors etc.) and external partner programs (e.g. State colleges and high schools) to recruit students into the programAssist the Office of Undergraduate Research and Inquiry with events programs recruitmentPerform other job related duties as assigned.Serve on committees as needed.FAU Benefits and PerksIf Benefits & Perks are important to you then FAU is the place to be!
