Scheduled Hours37.5Position SummaryReporting to the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) the Assistant Director is part of a team responsible for maximizing philanthropic support from corporations and foundations for the School of Medicine. The Assistant Director will contribute to the identification of potential grants and new funders successful submission of proposals and optimal stewardship of funders.Job DescriptionPrimary Duties & Responsibilities: Cultivation and SolicitationContribute to the development and editing of proposals under $100k for corporate and foundation submissions. Work collaboratively with the faculty and other colleagues to ensure submissions are complete and deadlines met.Assist with other proposals and solicitation activities as assigned by the Assistant Vice Chancellor.Cultivate new or existing relationships with CFR funders.Manage the Gifts-in-Kind process for Medical Advancement in coordination with Advancement Services.Proactively share funding opportunities and relevant funder information to units within the School of Medicine.StewardshipCollaborate with Director of Engagement to manage a portfolio of 10-15 prospects for stewardship activities.Assist team with grant post-award coordination including reports and any additional stewardship.QualificationIn collaboration with University Advancement partners (prospect research and prospect management) this position will research and investigate prospects to profile targeted grantors for suitability for designated University projects faculty research or new relationship development.Other FunctionsParticipate in and contribute to team strategic planning personal professional development and other duties as assigned.Work cooperatively with other development officers faculty researchers and WashU staff to further the mission of the CFR team.Perform other duties as assigned.Working Conditions:Job Location/Working ConditionsNormal office environmentTravel may be required.Physical EffortTypically sitting at desk or tableTypically standing or walkingEquipmentOffice equipmentThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by people assigned to this classification.
