Job Title: Assistant Facility Manager & Maintenance Technician (Part-Time)

Coldwater Mountain Brewpub is seeking a reliable, hands-on Part-Time Assistant Facility Manager & Maintenance Technician. Operating out of the historic, beautifully restored L&N Freight House in downtown Anniston, our facility features a full commercial kitchen, an active craft brewing facility, an indoor dining hall, and our outdoor Zinn Garden.

Job Summary

This position supports our facility leadership by executing day-to-day preventative maintenance, tracking repair logs, and handling minor structural fixes. You will work closely under the guidance of the Facility Manager to protect our historic 19th-century brick asset and ensure the brewery and kitchen run smoothly. This role requires 15 to 25 hours per week and is perfect for a skilled local tradesperson or maintenance professional looking for stable, supplemental income. 1

Job Responsibilities

  • Routine Repairs: Fix minor plumbing leaks, clear drain lines, touch up paint, repair restaurant furniture, and replace lighting fixtures across our indoor dining hall and outdoor beer garden. 1
  • Kitchen & Brewery Upkeep: Clean, inspect, and perform basic troubleshooting on commercial refrigerators, ice machines, hood ventilation systems, and facility drainage.
  • Historic Structure Preservation: Assist the Facility Manager with light carpentry, masonry inspections, and seasonal property care to protect our vintage freight house building.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Execute scheduled tasks assigned by leadership, including changing HVAC filters, checking grease traps, and testing emergency lighting.
  • Vendor Coordination: Meet, guide, and support specialized commercial contractors (like commercial HVAC or refrigeration technicians) on-site when complex repairs are required. 1

Shift Options & Flexibility

  • Hours: 15-25 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Highly flexible. We can accommodate morning shifts before the brewpub opens or set weekly mid-day blocks.
  • On-Call: Availability for occasional, urgent evening or weekend repair needs during peak dining and event hours is preferred.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in general property maintenance, commercial handyman work, or a skilled trade (carpentry, electrical, plumbing).
  • Technical Skills: Comfortable operating hand and power tools to safely troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and navigate tight historic building footprints.
  • Reliability: Strong self-management skills to complete a checklist of tasks independently with minimal supervision.
