Position Title:Assistant Football CoachAppointment Type:ContractJob Description:The Iowa State University Athletics Department is seeking talented candidates to serve as an Assistant Football Coach to build on our culture of competitive success in competition and in the classroom. This position will assist the Head Football Coachwith all phases of the NCAA Division I program to help develop our student-athletes to reach their full potential.Examples of what youll doAssist with planning effective practice sessions and competitive coaching situationsEffectively teach mentor and coach to develop well-rounded student-athletes and contribute to and enhance a nationally competitive athletic experienceIdentify and successfully recruit and retain academically qualified and athletically talented student-athletesAnalyze scouting reports and pre-competition evaluations of opponents to provide effective strategy planningEstablish and maintain an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the student-athletes and help ensure academic progress and graduationAssist with game management and operationsAssist with administrative functionsAdhere to University Conference and NCAA policies procedures and regulationsEstablish and maintain effective interactions with the students colleagues university community alumni media and the publicThis position requires a high level of football knowledge excellent work ethic along with exceptional motivational teaching/coaching and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to travel extensively including overnight stays for recruiting and competitions.Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree.Experience coaching or competing in football at a highly competitive level (post high school).Preferred Qualifications:Successful NCAADI and/or professional football coaching experience in assigned positions.Successful NCAA DI and/or professional football playing experience.Demonstrated ability to recruit and coach highly skilled studentathletes and have strong recruiting connections.About ISU Athletics:As an NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision athletics program and a founding member of the Big 12 Conference Iowa State University sponsors 18 intercollegiate athletics teams and supports 450 student-athletes in their pursuit of academic and athletic excellence.
