Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDESCRIPTION:The assistant is responsible for implementing the Montessori curriculum and philosophy under the supervision of the Lead teacher.The general duties of the Montessori assistant shall include, but shall not necessarily be limited to, the following:To prepare and clean the environment under the specification of the Montessori teacher,To assume responsibility of Lead Teacher in their absenceTo attend meetings and other school functions as specified by the School DirectorTo assist in the making of materials for the classroomTo supervise children’s use of materials as directedTo participate in record-keeping, assessment of childrenTo work with individual and small groups of childrenTo be in charge of children’s lunch time/ nap timeTo assist in playground supervision and special activities and projects QUALIFICATIONS:Have one or more of the following:Work experience in a Montessori school or work experience in a Day Care Center.Work experience with appropriate aged children.High school diploma or equivalent and read and write in English.Fulfill all requirements of State and local Licensing agencies.  This form reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the essential function of the job identified and shall not be considered as a detailed description of all the works requirements that may be inherited in the job.
