We encourage applications from candidates in any area of Biochemistry, including but not limited to studies of the structure and function of nucleic acids, proteins, or carbohydrates or the biochemistry of gene expression, with potential for collaboration with faculty in the department. Expertise in innovative approaches including analytical methods and computational tools is encouraged.QUALIFICATIONSCandidates must have: 1) a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related discipline; 2) an outstanding record of scholarly publication and plans for an independent research program with the potential for external funding; and 3) a commitment to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in areas related to their scholarly interest. Credentials appropriate for an appointment to the CUNY doctoral faculty are required. Located in the Biomedical Corridor of the Upper East Side of Manhattan, Hunter College is a PhD-granting institution. We also provide mentoring and support for research, scholarship, and publication as part of our commitment to ongoing faculty professional development.CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases.
