Job DescriptionThe Department of Human Nutrition Foods and Exercise (HNFE) in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. This is a full-time tenure-track 9-month appointment with primary responsibilities in research (60%) and teaching (40%). The successful candidate will have formal training and a strong publication record within dissemination and implementation science with an emphasis on behavioral and community applications within nutrition and/or exercise science/kinesiology. Research concentrations may include but are not limited to: designing implementing and evaluating behavioral and community-based nutrition and/or exercise science/kinesiology interventions utilizing dissemination and implementation techniques; assessing the adoption of evidence-based programs in different settings; and exploring the dissemination and uptake of research findings by communities Virginia Cooperative Extension and the public.HNFEs unique integration of nutrition foods and exercise science positions us to advance knowledge in education prevention research and translational studies.
