Title: Assistant Professor (Nursing)Employee Classification: FA - Faculty 16 and 24 PayPay Grade: FA 01Division: Academic and Student AffairsSubdivision:School of NursingDepartment: College of Health and Human ServCampus Location: Main CampusGeneral SummaryWe are seeking applications for one full-time tenure-track faculty position (8 month contract) starting Fall 2026. Applicants must hold a doctoral degree* in nursing or a related field. The School of Nursing (SON) is one of five schools within the College of Health & Human Services. The SON offers BSN 2nd Degree BSN BSN Collaborative degree online BSN completion and multiple graduate education options including graduate certificates MSN tracksand a DNP program. For more information email Dr. Kathryn Hughesdon SON Search and Screen Committee Chair at Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeach contractual load of undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned by the department or school.Assign and submit grades in accordance with established University schedules.Keep posted office hours during the week which are scheduled at times most beneficial to students.Participate in activities related to program improvement and regulatory compliance.Provide academic advising to students if applicable.Serve on search committees for hiring of new faculty members departmental committees and other service committees across the university.Participate in activities such as student registration orientation convocations and commencements.Attend and participate in scheduled departmental meetings and functions.Provide other support services to the department college and/or university if applicable.Engage in pursuits that enable them to remain current in their respective disciplines.Engage in pursuits that help to further organize and contribute to the growth of the body of knowledge in their respective disciplines and/or to explore interdisciplinary implications.Perform related Departmental duties as required.Minimum Qualifications: Prior teaching experience at the college or university level A planned or proven program of research Doctorate: DNP PhD EdD Practice experience across settings and populations*Will have confirmed Doctoral degree prior to Fall New Faculty Orientation (August 2026)Preferred Qualifications:N/ASpecial Instructions:Please attach a letter of interest curriculum vitae teaching statement and research statement.Appointment Percentage:100% Key Skills Experience Working With Students,Classroom Experience,Medical Management,Library Services,Pharmacy Residency,Research Experience,Teaching,Higher Education Teaching,Curriculum Development,Grant Writing,Mentoring,Research Laboratory Experience Employment Type : Full-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
