Position Title: Assistant Professor of Digital Studies, Tenure Track, Starting September 1, 2026City: GallowayState: New JerseyEmployment Type: Faculty Full-timeDescriptionCampus Location: Main Campus (Galloway)Department: School of Arts and HumanitiesSalary Range: $69,373.45 - $79,781.83Salary Information: Salary commensurate with experience and is accompanied by an extremely competitive University benefits packageWork Hours: variesBrief Job Overview/SummaryStockton University’s Digital Studies (DIGI) Program invites applications for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning September 1, 2026.The DIGI program prepares students to become versatile “digital generalists” who think critically, design creatively, and adapt to new technologies in a rapidly evolving digital world.The successful candidate for this TT position will play a key leadership role in advancing this interdisciplinary program and contribute expertise in areas such as interactive media, coding, design thinking, UI/UX, extended reality (XR), artificial intelligence (AI), or other emerging fields within digital technologies.Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities:Demonstrate an active research and/or creative agenda that contributes to the field of Digital StudiesEngage in curriculum development and interdisciplinary collaboration across programs and schoolsPlay a leading role in shaping the direction of the Digital Studies program, including developing new courses, mentoring students and colleagues, and building partnerships within and beyond the UniversityTeach 24 credits per academic year (typically three 4-credit courses per semester), including Digital Studies and General Studies courses related to their area of expertiseActively participate in Program, School and/or University serviceRequired Qualifications:Ph.D., MFA, or other terminal degree in Digital Media Studies or a closely related field (for example, Media Studies, Communication, Digital Design, Interactive Media or New Media Art, Computer Science, or similar disciplines that integrate digital theory and practice)Teaching experience in higher education or in a comparable educational or professional settingPreferred Qualifications:Evidence of teaching excellence in courses related to Digital StudiesFull-time higher education teaching experience in Digital Studies or a related fieldProfessional work experience in the digital field (e.g., game, coding, interactive media, UI/UX, XR, AI)Evidence of leadership and organizational skillsExperience working collaboratively across disciplines or programsScreening Information:Screening of applications begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
