Academic Pediatric Plastic SurgeonThe Division of Plastic Surgery Department of Surgery at the University of WashingtonSchool of Medicine invites applications for a full-time academic Pediatric Plastic Surgeon at the rank of Assistant Professor WOT (without tenure).The successful candidate will become a full-time member of the Division of Craniofacial and Plastic Surgery based at Seattle Childrens Hospital (SCH). The primary clinical practice at SCH will focus on general pediatric reconstructive surgery for congenital and acquired soft tissue differences and complex reconstruction exclusive of craniofacial anomalies. The secondary site of practice will be at Harborview Medical Center with a focus on adult reconstructive surgery including facial trauma care. Collaboration with orthopedic surgery spine surgery general surgery and urology will be a central practice component at both sites; the successful candidate is expected to develop microsurgical expertise. All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service. Postive factors for consideration include but are not limited to candidates who have demonstrated the ability to be academically productive in research or education.At the rank of Assistant Professor WOT the base salary range for this position will be $30834-$34167 per month ($370008 - $410004 annually). Base salaries at all ranks will be commensurate with candidate experience and qualifications. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University. Other compensation associated with this position may include variable incentive through CUMG. Compensation provided by Childrens University Medical Group (CUMG) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.For practitioners holding an appointment in one of the physicians practice plans see the link for additional benefits that may be available at: as Assistant Professor WOT are normally structured per University guidelines as two consecutive 3-year terms followed by review for promotion to Associate Professor WOT. Assistant Professors WOT are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1 June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. This full-time position will include clinical activities at Seattle Childrens Hospital University of Washington Northwest Hospital and University of Washington Harborview Medical Center. Salary and rank will be commensurate with training qualifications and experience with an expected start date of July 1 2026.Candidates must meet the following requirements: MD (or foreign equivalent) Board-certified or eligible to achieve certification by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (or foreign equivalent) Eligible for medical licensure in state of Washington Prospective candidate will have successfully completed a relevant subspecialty plastic surgery fellowship or have at least two years of equivalent experienceIn order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
