Job DescriptionJob DescriptionCompany InformationSun Tribe EPC (“ST EPC”) is Virginia’s premier utility scale Solar design and build firm focused on designing and constructing sub 20MW ground mounted Solar Photovoltaic (PV) facilities. The Project Management (PM) Department of Sun Tribe EPC is responsible for planning and executing construction projects pursuant to terms of turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) agreements. Job SummaryThe Assistant Project Manager (APM) role provides administrative and project management support of solar PV projects, ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and according to the company’s industry leading quality standards.The Assistant Project Manager reports to the Vice President of Project Management Office.ResponsibilitiesProject Coordination: Support Project Managers in planning and executing solar PV projects, including schedules, budgets, safety, and quality standards.Documentation & Reporting: Manage project documentation, Procore tools, and required reporting to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and compliance with contracts.Stakeholder Support: Coordinate with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams by preparing agendas, recording meeting minutes, and tracking deliverables.Risk & Issue Tracking: Monitor risks, opportunities, and project changes; escalate issues and recommend solutions.Permitting & Logistics: Assist with permits, subcontractor deliverables, and coordination of material deliveries to project sites.Leadership Development: Step into Project Manager responsibilities as needed, building toward independent project management.Culture & Values: Promote Sun Tribe’s core values, ensuring collaboration, safety, and respect across all project stakeholders.Basic Qualifications RequiredDegree required: Bachelor's Degree in construction management, business, engineering or other technical related field is requiredA minimum two (2) years’ experience in construction and/or project management experience or related field requiredCurrent, valid Driver’s License, eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverageExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSkills & Experience PreferredStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage time, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple projects and deadlinesProficiency in Procore or similar construction management software preferredSelf-motivated with a commitment to continuous improvement, both individually and as part of a teamFamiliarity with Microsoft Project or similar scheduling software preferredCollaborative mindset with the ability to work well on teams; leadership and delegation skills a plusAlignment with Sun Tribe’s core values: Community, Safety, Perpetual Improvement, Nature, Joy, and RespectWorking Conditions and Physical RequirementsMust be able to traverse and inspect all areas of jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretchingRequired travel to worksites and projects as neededExposure to characteristic construction site hazardsWearing of standard personal protective equipment while on project sitesCompensation and BenefitsCompetitive base salary Healthcare benefits - Medical, Vision, Dental401(k) with company matchLife and Disability InsuranceCompetitive paid time off and volunteer daysEmployee Assistance ProgramAnd more!Location and Hybrid Work Hybrid work environment in Charlottesville, VA, with occasional travel throughout Virginia to project sites required.
