This range takes into account a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Salary offers are determined based on the final candidate’s qualifications and experience, as well as internal equity and other internal factors. The anticipated pay range is not a promise of a particular wage.Job Description Summary:The part-time, temporary Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) will provide practical and organizational support to the director, actors, designers, stage crew, and technicians throughout the production process. They are also the director’s representative during rehearsals and performances, making sure that the production runs smoothly and maintains its artistic integrity. During rehearsals, the director and the ASM work side by side, with the ASM recording the director’s decisions about blocking and notes for the actors, keeping track of logistical details, and communicating what goes on in rehearsals to the rest of the team.In conjunction with the director, the stage manager determines the scheduling of all rehearsals and makes sure everyone involved is notified of rehearsal times, meetings, costume/wig fittings and coaching sessions. The Assistant Stage Manager records all blocking, plus all the lighting, sound and set change cues, in a master copy of the script called the prompt book, allowing the SM to run the technical rehearsals and performances. The ASM and the technical director also work out a smooth and efficient plan for the stage crew to follow during set changes.
