Our mission is to empower children, young people and families to thrive through quality and compassionate service.CORA’s Community Services Division is currently recruiting for an Assistant Preschool Teacher to join our Early Years Program as a long-term substitute at our Huntington Mills locationThis is an on-site, full-time positionAssociate’s Degree in ECE or CDA RequiredMinimum starting salary - $16.00 - $17.00/hour (compensation commensurate with experience and credentials)All CORA team members are expected to uphold the mission, vision and values of CORA Services which includes valuing all individuals and supporting each individual’s potential for growthIn addition, as an Assistant Preschool Teacher - Long term substitute your duties will include:Assisting the Lead Teacher in implementing educational lesson plans based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards, in conjunction with the OCDEL-approved curriculum.Participating in individual and group activities to actively engage children and encourage cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.Adhering to schedules and routines to ensure adequate physical activity, rest, and playtimeEnsuring a safe and healthy learning environment including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and safety and security of childrenHelping to monitor growth and development of children based on established learning objectives using age-appropriate assessment toolsEstablishing positive relationships with parents and maintaining frequent communication about student's growth and progress through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferencesParticipating collaboratively and professionally with other teachers and staff to promote the general well-being of the Early Years programHelping with center-wide events, food program, preparation for assessments and audits, and other projects or tasks as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:CDA credential required; undergraduate degree (AA or BA) in early childhood education preferred2+ years’ verifiable experience working with an early childhood populationFamiliarity with Keystone STARS standards and/or DHS regulations preferredInfant/child CPR and First Aid certification required – CORA will pay for certification if hired withoutOutstanding communication and interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain positive, productive working relationships within CORA as well as with children and their familiesDemonstrated passion for engaging and teaching and supporting childrenGood computer skills and working knowledge of Office 365 applicationsCORA Offers:Medical, dental and vision coverages with a competitive company premium contribution (eligible 1st day of the month following date of hire)Company paid life/AD&D and LTD coveragesSupplemental voluntary benefits including STD, accident, critical illness, etc.403b retirement plan with generous company contribution after one year of servicePaid time off + paid agency holidaysEmployee Assistant ProgramFamily Planning Benefits (including cash benefit to assist with IVF, egg freezing, adoption, or surrogacy)An outstanding, inclusive work environmentCORA Services Inc. provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religious creed, sex, national origin, age, disability or genetics.
