Assistant Vice President, Product Management
Morgan Stanley Private Bank NA is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Product Management in New York, New York to assist in the identification, business case development, design, and implementation of Bank strategic initiatives. Partner with Bank Product, Sales, Digital, Finance, Treasury, Analytics, Marketing, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Sourcing, and the Program Management Office teams, and other business units, to evaluate and implement strategic initiatives. Document findings of studies and prepare recommendations for implementation of new systems, procedures, or organizational changes. Conduct market research, competitor research, and data analysis to drive insights and inform recommendations and action plans. Plan study of work problems and procedures, such as organizational change, communications, information flow, and integrated production methods. Synthesize relevant content to develop concise and effective presentations for Senior Leadership. Interview personnel and conduct on-site observation to ascertain unit functions, work performed, and methods, equipment, and personnel used. Assist in program and project management of strategic initiatives delivery and got to market execution. Develop governance materials and presentations for Bank Committees and the Board. Review forms and reports and confer with management and users about format, distribution, and purpose, identifying problems and improvements. Telecommuting permitted up to 1 day per week.
Requires a Master's degree in Management Studies, Finance, or a related field of study
Requires three (3) years of experience in the position offered or three (3) years as an Associate, or a closely related occupation
Requires three (3) years of experience with the following skills:
- Data analysis and interpretation using large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities;
- breaking down complex, ambiguous business problems into structured and actionable insights;
- assessing industry structure, competitors, and macroeconomic impacts on financial services using tools including S&P Capital IQ;
- handling strategic initiatives end-to-end, setting objectives, timelines, governance, tracking deliverables, and escalating risks;
- working across teams to drive execution and alignment;
- Financial Analysis including modelling, quantitative analysis, and evaluation of business cases;
- preparing slides, reports, and executive summaries for senior management;
- designing KPIs, dashboards, and performance scorecards to track progress on strategic goals;
- identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies and manual process to drive operational enhancements and efficiencies; and
- handling organizational change and transformation through stakeholder engagement, communication, and adoption of new ways of working.
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $135,000 and $140,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
