General Internal Medicine Hospital Medicine Program Assistant/Associate Professor of Clinical Practice PositionsThe Hospital Medicine Program part of the Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM) and the Department of Medicine is currently accepting online applications for up to seven positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank in the Clinical Practice track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UWs Faculty Code Section 24-34. Position FTE is negotiable - information about benefits eligibility can be found at While the anticipated start date is July 1 2026 specific start date is negotiable and select positions may be available immediately. Candidates may be considered at individual or multiple sections of GIMHarborview Medical Center University of Washington Medical Center (Montlake and Northwest campuses) and VA Puget Sound Health Care System. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching research and service. All positions will provide primary medicine services consultative medicine and/or perioperative medicine services with teaching on the general medicine wards and opportunities to interact with students and residents from a variety of addition to clinical work teaching scholarship and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years at a minimum with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June) meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.Only full-time positions (100% FTE) are eligible for H-1B and permanent residence sponsorship. Total guaranteed annual compensation ranges from $235008 - $315000 depending upon rank and day/night split.SalaryFor HMC UWMC-Montlake UWMC-Northwest:The base salary range for this position will be: $14334- $20417per month ($172008- $245004 annually) commensurate with experience and qualifications or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan in addition to base salary provided by the University.
