Our law firm is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with a strong interest in Defense Litigation. The ideal candidate will have a passion for law, a mind for strategic litigation and a commitment to excellence. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.in
Responsibilities:
1. Work with senior attorneys to manage aspects of litigation, including taking and defending depositions, attending court conferences, reviewing pleadings and preparing for and going to trial.
2. Conduct legal research and draft complex pleadings, motions, briefs, and appeals.
3. Regularly handle court appearances and depositions.
4. Consult with clients to ascertain and address their legal needs.
5. Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in an effort to resolve cases favorably.
6. Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality in interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
7. Contribute to firm growth by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients.
8. Stay updated with changes in law, court decisions, and other legal matters that could impact the firm's clients.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. A minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney, specifically in defense litigation.
3. Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
4. Proven experience in managing a full caseload.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
8. Proficient in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Unwavering ethics and a high level of professionalism.
10. Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve disputes favorably for clients.
