Associate Cloud Engineer at Public Storage

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Cloud Engineer to join our enterprise IT department in Plano TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. This role requires an understanding of cloud architecture security and best practices to ensure the reliability scalability and performance of our cloud-based systems.They will work in a fast-paced environment and must be adaptable to the many changing processes and technologies related to the various IT systems. Responsibilities:Deploy and manage GCP Infrastructure and ServicesCompute Engine Cloud Storage Backup & DR Load BalancersKubernetes CloudRun CloudBuildGood understanding of Google infrastructure and networkingGood understanding of GKE design operations and troubleshootingCollaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with GKE and GCECollaborate on cloud security measures including identity and access management encryption and network securityMonitor and optimize cloud performance cost and scalability with DataDogAutomate cloud operations using tools such as Terraform Ansible or similarTroubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and incidentsStay up-to-date with the latest GCP features services and best practicesProvide technical guidance and support to other IT team membersDevelop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and processesQualifications : 3 years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform or equivalent2 years of experience working with GKE and GCEKnowledge of GKE and integration with development teamsKnowledge of GCP services - Compute Engine Cloud Storage CloudRunProficiency in scripting languages such as Python Bash or PowerShellAbility to use GitOps principles for all code-based infrastructureFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Bitbucket JenkinsUnderstanding cloud security best practices compliance requirements and IAC practicesExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a teamStrong communication and collaboration skillsAdditional Technical Qualifications:Certification and hands-on experience with monitoring and logging tool DataDogUnderstanding of DevOps DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelinesKnowledge of Google Backup disaster recovery and business continuity planning in a cloud environmentAbility to create and manage ContainersPreferred QualificationsGoogle Cloud Professional Google Cloud Engineer certification**This job requires work to be done outside of normal working hours including occasionally weeknights and weekends.Additional Information : WorkplaceOne of our values pillars is to work as OneTeam and we believe that there is no replacement for in-person collaboration but understand the value of some flexibility.
