Our team members have what they need to make a meaningful impact and are truly valued for who they are and what they contribute.To learn more about CIBC please visit What Youll Be Doing:Primary responsibilities of the Associate Commercial Real Estate Finance (CRE Fin) within Global Credit Finance (GCF) will be to size underwrite onboard and portfolio manage CRE warehouse (CRE Repo) and Note on Note facilities and pledged underlying commercial real estate bridge senior loans. The ASO will be part of a global team of dynamic CRE team based in Toronto New York and London with this position being based out of New York.How Youll Succeed:Size and underwrite CRE bridge loans compile and analyze market information regarding properties markets and underlying borrowers/sponsors being financedPerform market including securitization markets CBMS/CRE CLO and property research and analysis utilizing 3rd party data providers such as CoStar and/or Moodys Analytics database pullsInterface with lending counterparties to obtain necessary information and documentation required for loan filesMaintain loan files applicable checklists and any items needed from underlying borrowerReview and analyze items received to ensure files are accurately documented to perfect security interestAssemble data and other information for reports charts summaries and related documentationPrepare facility credit memorandums loan credit memorandums asset summaries and underwriting narrativesPresent deals to credit committeeWork with credit team to obtain required credit and other approvalsLiaison with external and internal legal counsels to incorporate business terms into the facility and loan pledge documents and post-closing obligationsWork with operations department on loan closings monthly remittance and payoff statementsMonitor loan portfolio and prepare quarterly reports discussing loan credit metricsPrepare presentations conduct other projects and duties as assigned to support senior staff and managementOccasionally conduct site inspectionsAttend industry conferencesWork effectively within CIBCs corporate governance practices and policies (Risk Management Finance HR Legal and Compliance) to ensure compliance with CIBCs Governance and Control Framework and regulatory requirements.Who You Are:BA/BS degree in finance economics real estate or related discipline preferredAt least 2-3 years of CRE loan sizing underwriting credit analysis and lending experience in various property typesThe candidate will either have or be required to obtain requisite FINRA Series 63 7 and 79 Licenses as appropriateAbility to work well and maintain high degree of tact discretion and comfort in interacting with a diverse group of staff clients and vendorsStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsSuperior analytical and presentation skillsExceptional ability to handle sensitive/confidential information with discretionStrong client/customer focusThe ability to work independently with minimal direction take initiative and exercise good judgment at all timesOccasional travel requiredValues matter to you. This role has an expected salary range of $150000-$185000 for the New York NY market based on experience qualifications and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business units incentive compensation plan which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
