Kelly is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer for one of our construction clients in Austin or Houston, TXNew positionTarget start date: ASAPDirect HireTravel Expectations: 25%Can work in Austin or HoustonThe ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive blend of advanced technical expertise, project leadership, and strong business acumen. At the core, this role requires expert knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, practices, and codes—specifically ANSI and IEEE standards—to lead complex design projects from the initial concept through to completion. This includes the ability to develop innovative, non-standard design solutions and a proven track record of leading teams, mentoring junior engineers, and managing project scope, schedules, and budgets effectively. Furthermore, the Senior Electrical Engineer must have demonstrated experience in business development, including building client relationships, identifying new pursuits, and leading the creation of cost proposals to meet financial performance goals. Strong communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills are essential to coordinate with diverse engineering disciplines, resolve design-related issues, and ensure customer satisfaction.QualificationsExpert knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures, with strong proficiency in ANSI and IEEE standards for electrical equipment design. Proven experience leading the electrical design for large projects, including electrical substations from 12kV to 500kV. This includes delegating tasks, managing project scope, budget, and schedule, and resolving team issues. Demonstrated ability to build client relationships, participate in sales and marketing, and lead the development of cost proposals and qualification statements. Experience providing leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced engineers.EducationMasters Degree in electrical engineering is preferred, however Bachelor's degree is required or related degree from an accredited program. 7 years of Electrical Engineering experience required, preferred experience in high voltage substation design. EPC project experience preferredPreferred CertsPE, PMP
