Work ScheduleStandard (Mon-Fri)Environmental ConditionsOfficeJob DescriptionAbout Thermo Fisher ScientificThermo Fisher Scientific is the world leader in serving science delivering innovative solutions across life sciences diagnostics pharmaceuticals and laboratory services.Position OverviewWe are seeking an investment team member to drive investment sourcing assessment modeling and value creation within Thermo Fisher Scientifics Strategic Capital team.This individual will play a key role in evaluating emerging companies structuring investment opportunities and supporting strategic collaborations that enhance Thermo Fishers long-term growth.The ideal candidate has a strong background in venture capital corporate development or corporate venture capital. Life Sciences diagnostics or pharma services experience combined with deep industry knowledge and a proven ability to complete high-value deals is strongly valued.Key responsibilitiesConduct market research and competitive analysis to assess external landscape and potential investment opportunities.Develop reports presentations and thought leadership to communicate investment trends and strategic insights to internal partners.Work cross-functionally with internal business units to align investments with Thermo Fishers technology product and commercial strategies.Support due diligence efforts transaction structuring and financial modeling as well as preparing transaction recommendations for executive leadership.Ensure the projects and workstreams meet scope timelines etc.Effectively drive communication and progress messaging to key partners.Support portfolio management investment tracking and return analyses.Experience7-9 years of relevant professional experienceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as project and time management.Experience structuring deals conducting due diligence and negotiating term sheets.Solid financial modeling and forecasting with the ability to communicate complex business issues/content to leadership at varying levels.Demonstrated ability to thrive in a matrixed organization effectively navigating ambiguity and collaborating across teams and functions.Experience working with senior executives across various geographies and functions.High level of self-drive proactivity and ownership mentality.Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check which includes a drug screening.Our Mission is to enable our customers to make the world healthier cleaner and safer.
