Job Description Title : Associate Engineer - Storage and Backup Engineer Location : Hybrid - LA to go on site once a week (Wednesdays) to Alhambra office Duration : 12 Months Rate : $55/hr on w2 The Associate Engineer is a position created for the individual to grow and sharpen their skills within the Data Center Environment. This person needs to have some technical abilities and have a background in IT and is eager to learn and grow as they will be shadowing each of my engineers to learn their specializations (Listed below) and assisting with lighter tasks. It would be a plus if this person had some knowledge in Kubernetes and PKI as well. Specializations: Virtualization (VMware VXRail VCenter Vsphere) Storage & Backup ( Netapp Net Backup) Database ( Oracle SQL) Windows Linux Hardware/ EUC/ Workstations Infrastructure Security (Identity Management RSA Console Active Directory) Job Responsibilities Network & Systems Engineering Deliver planning design implementation and optimization services as a post-sales consultant to WWTs Commercial Enterprise clients. Create High-Level and Low-Level Designs following industry and WWT best practices. Lead the delivery of solutions involving routers switches firewalls load balancers and related hardware/software technologies. Perform installation configuration maintenance and troubleshooting of customer-managed hardware software and peripherals. Oversee and execute new and existing equipment upgrades across hardware and software. Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting Monitor network and system performance identifying issues and resolving them proactively. Conduct research on products services protocols and standards to stay current with industry developments. Backup & Storage Perform NetBackup agent installation across Windows and Linux environments; integrate NetBackup with VMware. Perform storage maintenance upgrades patching and troubleshooting. Systems & Security Technologies Work with Linux RHEL Tanium and Identity Management systems. Manage and administer Active Directory SCCM and RSA Console environments.
