Randolph College invites applications for the position of Associate Provost to begin July 1, 2026. This full-time, 12-month administrative position reports directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs and plays a key leadership role in advancing the College’s academic mission.Founded in 1891 as Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, Randolph College is a forward-looking, innovative liberal arts institution located in Lynchburg, Virginia. The College has a longstanding reputation for excellence in teaching, close faculty-student engagement, and a deep commitment to access and inclusion.Position DescriptionThe Associate Provost assists the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs with the administration of Randolph College’s academic programs, policies, and procedures; and fulfills the duties of the Provost in their absence. In addition, the Associate Provost is expected to provide leadership specifically in the areas of faculty professional development, general education assessment, and student success and advising.Essential Duties GeneralAssist the Provost with administration of academic policies and procedures as neededFulfill the duties of the Provost in their absenceAssist with the review of existing academic policies and development of new policiesRepresent the Office of the Provost on certain college committees (Admissions Committee, Board of Review, International and Off-Campus Programs Committee, Teacher Education Advisory Committee)Represent the Office of the Provost on the student-led Judiciary Committee in review of Honor Code violations and act as consultant as needed Curricular Administration and AssessmentCoordinate logistics of online undergraduate classesCoordinate assessment of general education program Faculty Professional DevelopmentCreate and implement faculty professional development programs (new faculty orientation, faculty mentoring, adjunct onboarding, trainings)Work with new Teaching and Learning Center to support excellence in teachingCoordinate faculty awards Student Success and AdvisingAssist the Director of Student Success and Coordinator of Access Services with support for academically at-risk students, including responses and referrals regarding academic concerns to student, parents, and other constituentsAdvise underperforming students and track their academic progress Identify and inform students when placed on probation or declared academically ineligible to return to the institutionRequired QualificationsGraduate degree from an accredited institutionCollege-level teaching experienceStrong organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsAbility to develop and administer complex, diverse projectsAbility to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a leadership teamA commitment to inclusiveness and shared governanceAdministrative experience in higher educationPreferred QualificationsDoctoral or terminal degree from an accredited institution3-5 years of full-time college-level teaching experienceRelevant leadership experience (e.g., department chair, committee chair, associate dean, division head, etc.)College level student advising experienceKnowledge of general academic policies and faculty issuesKnowledge of best practices in faculty professional developmentKnowledge of student achievement and curricular assessment methodsKnowledge of SACSCOC accreditation procedures and academic standardsHow to Apply To apply, please submit a letter of interest, current CV/resume, and names and contact information for at least three references via email to [email protected].
