As a member of our team youll gain hands-on experience in the real estate industry and benefit from a supportive environment that fosters personal and professional growth.How You Add Value Functional:Comprehend newly executed purchase and sale agreements and understand/investigate any accounting consequences as well as the impact of prorationsComprehend newly executed joint venture agreements and loan documents and understand/investigate any accounting and/or financial reporting consequences on an asset and fund-levelCalculate prorations on transactions for inclusion in the closing statement based on the purchase and sale agreementDraft internal closing statement to be distributed to the buyer seller and title company (reconcile to title company statement); coordinate internal team and buyer review/approval prior to closingFor property acquisitions prepare accounting system templates to create set up and onboard new assets and legal entitiesFor property acquisitions assist with third party purchase price allocation reports and prepare corresponding entriesFor property acquisitions test key inputs used in the purchase price allocation estimatesPrepare disposition journal entries and gain/loss calculation and ensure properly recorded by the property managersAssist with audit inquiries from public accounting firms related to transaction testingPrepare special ad hoc projects and analysis on a frequent basisDemonstrate ability to gather deal information from a variety of sources and to create and maintain multiple deal and reporting trackers to share with all relevant internal parties for planning purposesProvide recommendations to improve processes and procedures and initiate corrective actionsRelationship Management:Accountable to Blackstone and portfolio companies for timely and accurate reportingSupport initiatives to ensure smooth business partner experience across the teamRespond to business partner inquiries and commit to deliverables by leveraging resources across the teamPartner with other team members to identify and drive external relationships with the teams key contacts and stakeholders including third-party accounting departments and third-party operators accounting teamsWhat You Bring To The RoleRequired:Bachelors Degree with a major in Accounting Finance or closely related fieldMinimum 1 - 3 years of real estate investment accounting experienceKnowledge of GAAPAdvanced knowledge of MS Office Suite including Excel Word and PowerPointExcellent communication problem solving and interpersonal skillsAbility to multi-task and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environmentPreferred:CPA certificationBig 4 public accounting experienceCommercial real estate fund reporting experience (open-ended fund closed-end fund separate account and/or REIT-related)Experience in preparing and/or reviewing third party appraisals reports and/or internal valuationsAccounting system consolidation experience/knowledgeBase Compensation Range:$90000.00 To $110000.00 Annually. This represents the presently-anticipated low and high end of the Companys base compensation range for this position.
