JOB DESCRIPTION

Associate Veterinarian | Privately Owned & Growth-Focused

Mercy Pet Hospital – Citrus Heights & Fair Oaks, CA

Are you a veterinarian who loves to look beyond the symptoms? Our team at Mercy Pet Hospital takes the time to understand each pet’s whole story and what makes their family tick. If you’re looking for a privately owned, growth-focused practice that prioritizes personalized care over rigid protocols, we’d love to have you as part of the team.

Why Mercy Pet Hospital?

We know there are many clinics to choose from. Here is why our doctors stay:

  • True Work-Life Balance: We don’t just say it—we schedule it. With no on-call hours, no emergency shifts, and a consistent 1-hour lunch break where the clinic actually closes, you can recharge daily.
  • Privately Owned Culture: Avoid the "numbers-only" corporate mindset. We focus on customized care for our clients and a supportive, mentorship-heavy environment for our staff.
  • The Sacramento Lifestyle: Located in the heart of Northern California, you’re minutes from farm-to-table dining and river activities, and only a short drive from the peaks of Lake Tahoe or the streets of San Francisco.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Whether you want a 4-day work week or a part-time arrangement to accommodate childcare or personal passions, we are ready to build a schedule that works for you.

What You’ll Do

As an Associate Veterinarian, you will have the autonomy to manage cases while being supported by an exceptional, highly-utilized tech team. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Building lasting bonds with a loyal client base.
  • Managing a diverse caseload of wellness, internal medicine, and urgent care.
  • Performing soft-tissue surgeries and dental procedures in well-equipped suites.
  • Collaborating with a team that values continuous learning and "medicine over metrics."
