JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for providing leadership coaching and training within the Punching division - PVS and Die Value Stream. Additionally the Assistant Business Unit Leader is responsible for daily production quality and on-time completion of customer orders.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFull supervisory responsibility for all employees equipment and department processes of assigned work groupAvailability and knowledge to answer technical questions on jobs in the work area and from other departmentsMust have the skills to understand and learn to operate all departmental equipmentDirects work-flow answer questions follows and communicates ordered steps necessary to complete jobsProvide supervisory expertise which includes; training others set-up assistance handling technical questions print reading and parts inspectionTracking scheduling and expediting workRun production control reportsProvide leadership positive motivation and mentoring for work-group membersTraining and direction of day to day operations for work-group membersQUALIFICATIONSHigh school education or equivalent2 year technical/machining degreePrevious leadership experience and/or ability to lead othersThorough knowledge of parts and machining processes acceptable tolerances dimensions and inspection proceduresTechnical knowledge problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to train othersLeadership skills; ability to mentor coach inspire and create a successful work environment preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
