Academic rank will be awarded based upon the career stage and development of the candidate. Surgeons in the Division of Gastrointestinal Surgery care for patients with benign and malignant conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, from gastroesophageal junction to anus, as well as abdominal wall hernias. The Division is comprised of the sections of Minimally Invasive Surgery (foregut and abdominal wall hernias) and Colon and Rectal Surgery. The Division is committed to excellence in patient care, education, clinical/translational research, and academic service. UF/Shands Hospital is accredited as a Comprehensive Center with Adolescent Qualifications by the American College of Surgeons Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program.Expected Salary: Based on education and experienceRequired Qualifications: Qualifications refer to evidence-based or demonstrated knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences required for the role. For TEAMS positions the required qualifications should reflect Classification Minimum Requirements. For Faculty roles, these qualifications may reflect college-specific requirements needed for success the role. MD degree or equivalent: American Board of Surgery Certification or eligibilityPreferred Subspecialty training in minimally invasive foregut surgery: bariatric procedures anti-reflux procedures paraesophageal hernia repair Upper endoscopy experience Research experience Leadership experience Special Instructions to Applicants: Letter of interest, curriculum vitae, and three letters of recommendation and/or a list of 3-5 professional references required with submission of application.
