Salary: $55000 to $65000 depending on experienceHours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Generous leave: Annual personal sick and floating holiday.Secure your future with a district paid retirement plan.Prioritize your wellness with our district paid health and dental plan for employees.SALARY RANGE: SalaryCLASSIFICATION: ExemptCONTRACT: 12 MonthSAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION: YesTRAVEL: 5%PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide high-quality instruction leadership and ongoing development for the At-Risk & Adult Welding Program ensuring students acquire the technical welding skills safety practices work-readiness and critical life skills necessary to maximize their competency successfully enter the workforce and pursue long-term career opportunities. The instructor supports the programs mission to guide at-risk learners toward meaningful career pathways and personal growth.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Build and maintain strong working relationships with ODCTE and DOC staff; coordinate and participate in annual program review meetings with both partners.Deliver engaging effective instruction aligned with the At-Risk Welding Technology curriculum.Maintain accurate attendance records assessments and monthly progress reports for the Campus Manager.Establish clear short- and long-term program goals and support continuous improvement aligned with industry needs.Identify prepare evaluate and share program information with Autry Tech administration as needed.Complete all required reports documentation and compliance items for Autry Tech and ODCTE.Develop and engage an advisory committee to ensure ongoing program relevance and quality.Maintain accurate inventory and oversee materials equipment and supplies to prevent loss misuse or safety risks.Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain current industry knowledge.Support the maintenance of clean safe and high-quality learning facilities. Instruct students in proper equipment usage safety procedures and care of tools and materials.Actively recruit and promote program opportunities to prospective students.Collaborate with the Marketing Department to share program updates successes and needs with the community.Strengthen relationships between the At-Risk Welding Program and local businesses and industries.Assist with student placement in on-the-job training full-time employment and continuing education pathways.Instruct short-term customized training classes for adult students as needed and deliver instruction for companies and organizations as requested and scheduled.Perform other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. Career Tech certification in Welding or bachelors degree preferred. Valid 6G welding license from the Oklahoma Department of Labor is required.SKILLS: Strong knowledge of welding processes (MIG Stick TIG)Ability to deliver instruction to diverse learners including at-risk individualsClassroom and shop safety management skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to model professionalism and workplace readinessProficiency in maintaining accurate documentation and student recordsAbility to work collaboratively with ODCTE DOC and internal staffEXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years of verifiable hands-on welding experience including MIG Stick TIG welding processes. Experience working in an industrial fabrication construction or manufacturing environment preferred. Experience maintaining welding equipment tools and shop safety protocols preferred. PHYSICAL FACTORS: Position is based in Enid OKWork occurs in an industrial welding environment with exposure to heat sparks bright light welding fumes metal dust noise and moving equipment. Duties may involve intermittent outdoor exposure temperature fluctuations and air quality variations typical of welding operations. Appropriate PPE ventilation and safety protocols are required.Physical demands include periods of standing bending stooping kneeling crawling pushing pulling reaching handling and requires fine motor skills visual acuity depth perception hearing and hand-eye coordination.Must be able to work in confined spaces or at heights and lift or move equipment up to 100 pounds.Perform under stress when confronted with emergency critical unusual or dangerous situations or situations in which working with speed and sustained attention are critical aspects of the job.DISCLAIMER: The responsibilities and duties outlined above are representative and may not capture every task that may be assigned.
