Prince of Peace Catholic SchoolJob DescriptionDepartment: Administration Policy 405.10Position: Athletic DirectorReports to: AdministratorPosition Purpose: To provide for overall leadership and coordination among the various athletic teams coaches and facilities related to the athletic program.Essential Functions:Athletic ManagementAttend and be responsible for the management of all home athletic eventsRecommend and implement operational policy and procedures of the athletic/activities programSupport philosophically spiritually and physically the endeavors of the athletic programEvaluate coaches performance regularlyRecommend the necessary qualified coaching personnelArrange for orientation of coaching staff to policies and procedures for all athletic programsCommunicate with the Iowa High School Athletic Associations when necessaryAttend conference athletic directors meetingsReport to the administrator all potential problems/matters/issues which may require his/her attentionPerform other related duties as assigned by the administratorAthletic Facility ManagementMake recommendations for the maintenance and improvement of facilities and equipment to the administrator/facilities committeeSupervise the athletic equipment/uniformsCoordinate with the maintenance department for the repair and upkeep ofThe Joe ODonnell Sports Center and all practice areas and related facilities and fieldsBoard of Education and Booster ClubAttend athletic booster club meetings and serve as the school liaisonServe as a liaison between the coaches and the booster clubProvide a written report and attend school board meetings monthlyArrange and attend athletic banquetsBudgetWork in conjunction with the business manager and administrator in developing the annual budget for the athletic programSeek coaches input into the annual budget processNeeded Skills:Effective communication and organizational skillsEffective public relations skillsAbility to work with children adolescents and adultsEducation/Training and/or Experience Requirements:Appropriate degree and license for an athletic director in IowaExperience as a coach at the high school levelPrevious athletic/activities director preferredRequired Experience:Director Key Skills Fundraising,Management Experience,Coaching,Analysis Skills,Strategic Planning,Team Management,Budgeting,Leadership Experience,Mentoring,Public Speaking,negotiation,Supervising Experience Employment Type : Part-Time Experience: years Vacancy: 1
