Overview Placement Type: Permanent Salary: $80,000-85,000 Salary Start Date: 10.27.2025 Proposal Specialist* Location: San Antonio Tx * Department: Marketing & Business Development100% on-sitePosition OverviewThe Proposal Specialist plays a key role in Southland's business development efforts by leading the creation, coordination, and delivery of high-quality prequalification and bid proposal packages. This role requires a balance of creativity, organization, and collaboration-working closely with project teams, marketing, and leadership to develop winning submissions that reflect Southland's capabilities and expertise.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage prequalification and bid proposal packages, ensuring timely and compliant submissions.Establish and maintain organized file structures for project-specific RFQs and proposal materials.Coordinate and manage all aspects of client-generated RFQs, internal responses, and final deliverables.Prepare proposal components, including scopes of work, resumes, project experience lists, org charts, and supporting materials.Collaborate with internal teams to define deliverable timelines, submission requirements, and responsibilities.Design and support PowerPoint presentations for business development and client meetings.Partner with Marketing to standardize templates, tools, and procedures that ensure consistency and compliance with Southland brand standards.Maintain project data and collateral, including information for press releases, project profiles, and case studies for print and web use.Coordinate with Marketing on media opportunities, trade show schedules, and content updates.QualificationsBachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or a related field - or equivalent work experience.Minimum 1-3 years of experience in proposal writing, editing, or technical documentation within a professional services environment.Project management experience preferred.Proficiency in Adobe InDesign required; experience with Adobe Creative Suite strongly preferred.Experience using Unanet, Asana, or other project management tools is a plusExcellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong collaboration and customer service orientation.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).What You'll BringA proactive mindset and passion for storytelling through design and content.The ability to manage multiple proposals with accuracy and creativity.A strong sense of ownership, accountability, and pride in delivering exceptional work.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.The target hiring compensation range for this role is $65k to $70k.
