Trial Attorney Our client seeks an experienced Trial Attorney to lead their trial team and work closely with the principal on various cases. This important role focuses on strategy development mediations trials depositions expert communication motions research and mentoring junior attorneys. A blend of legal expertise and strong leadership skills is essential for fostering a collaborative team environment. Requirements: - An active California Bar license. - Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. - A minimum of 5 years of trial attorney experience in one or more of the following areas: personal injury products liability construction defects medical device defects catastrophic personal injury or lemon law cases. - At least 2 years of experience as a Second Chair. - Preferred: At least 1 year of experience as a First Chair. - Significant experience in mediation and depositions. Responsibilities: - Drafting legal motions and trial-related documents including jury instructions motions in limine and trial briefs. - Conducting legal research managing case files and planning case strategies. - Supervising associates and legal support staff. - Serving as first and second chair for jury trials. - Attending hearings in state and federal courts. - Taking and defending depositions. - Participating in mediation sessions. - Collaborating with expert witnesses. - Drafting and responding to discovery requests as well as responding to meet-and-confer letters. - Communicating with opposing counsel and clients. Other details: Location: Costa Mesa CA - An inviting office environment located near South Coast Plaza. This is a full-time position Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with flexibility to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
