Job Title: Controls / Automation EngineerLocation: Minneapolis, MNDuration: 12+ Months on W2 - No C2CAbout the Role: Our client is seeking a highly skilled Controls / Automation Engineer to support the development, programming, integration, and qualification of automated systems within a regulated manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise with Rockwell Automation platforms, machine vision systems, and motion control technologies.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, program, and troubleshoot Rockwell Automation PLCs (ControlLogix, CompactLogix, Studio 5000).Configure and integrate machine vision systems, including Cognex or Keyence.Implement and optimize Rockwell motion control solutions (Kinetix drives, motion modules).Prepare and execute IQ/OQ/PQ protocols to support equipment qualification and validation.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing) throughout project phases.Support system commissioning, FAT/SAT, and troubleshooting during installation and deployment.Create detailed technical documentation such as schematics, test plans, and user guides.Ensure adherence to safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements.Required Skills & ExperienceStrong proficiency in Rockwell PLC programming using Studio 5000.Hands-on experience with Cognex or Keyence vision systems.Solid knowledge of Rockwell motion control systems.Understanding of IQ/OQ/PQ qualification processes.Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
