Participate in the design, implementation, and deployment of pioneering systems and technologies to continuously improve the safety, quality, and efficiency of our manufacturing processes. Functionally decompose sophisticated problems into simple, straightforward solutions. Share knowledge in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering standard methodologies.We are looking for someone to apply their expansive controls engineering expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to scale and improve automated manufacturing at Blue. Passion for our mission and vision is required!Responsibilities:Lead the internal design and development of from scratch automated manufacturing systemsElectrical design and modification of industrial control and safety systems (AutoCAD Electrical)Design and modification of PLC, HMI, and Robot programs (Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Studio 5000, WinCC Unified, Ignition, Kuka, Fanuc, ABB, etc.)Design of process control systems (Torque Tools, Machine Vision, Non-Destructive Testing, Inspection, Proof and Flow, Cleaning Passivation and Verification, Welding, Machining, etc.)Design and development of data collection solutionsSupport the development of SCADA applications (Ignition, Kepware, AWS, etc.)Provide production support for sophisticated manufacturing equipmentSupport initiatives to improve the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing processes through automation; accomplish the technical architecture, roadmap and implementationCollaborate with data-science and analytics teams to pair control system development with IOT analytics, developing closed-loop data-driven enhancements to sophisticated manufacturing systems*Basic Qualifications:4+ years experience with common automation software development languages (ex. Ladder, ST, C/C++)4+ years experience with controls and automation software development environments (ex. Siemens TIA Portal, Allen Bradley Control Logix)4+ years experience with 'from scratch' software development used in automated tooling, machinery, robotics, or similar equipmentA demonstrated ability to interpret and review electrical and mechanical drawingsStrong skills for design and process simplificationAbility to communicate optimally, clearly, and with humility to partnersAn understanding of world-class quality, attention to detail, and dedicationAbility to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to our organizational cultureMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred Qualifications:B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, or other relevant engineering fieldFamiliar with various control system and equipment safety standards such as IEC 61131, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and RIA 15.06Experience with writing and developing software in a high-level language such as Python or C#.Experience with NC programming of automated systems such as G-code, TP, KarelExcellent technical writing, grammar, and presentation experienceExperience with electrical verification of machinesExperience building, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical control panelsExperience in defining, implementing, and maintaining controls code from source controlHands on experience with multiple common manufacturing and assembly processes, CNC machines, metrology systems (laser tracking), and inspectionExperience with electrical design for industrial control systems using systems such as AutoCAD ElectricalCulture StatementDon't meet all desired requirements?
