OverviewSummaryAssist the Automation Controls Engineer and Maintenance team on troubleshooting projects and modifying existing plc programs and control systems.OwnershipSupports the development of Miloss Tea Company automation projects from both a technical perspective and through business intelligence and expertise.Troubleshoots and can install components of controls systems such as 4-20ma/0-10V analog inputs and outputs photo-eyes switches and is knowledgeable with motor drives and servo motors.Reads troubleshoots and maintains electrical schematics.Edits downloads and uploads programs in RS Logix 5000 RS Logix500 and Studio 5000 to maintain systems.Use Allen Bradley suites ME Transfer tool Factory Talk Linx Network Browser RS Linx Classic and other platforms.Has a basic understanding of how networks of systems operate and is able to troubleshoot systems from a networking perspective.Diagnose problems with ladder logic and support maintenance when necessary.Follow safety policy and procedures including but not limited to lock out-tag-out hot work permit and confined space.Uphold and participate in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling social advocacy and MMAD volunteering opportunities.This position has responsibilities essential to Food Safety.Perform other duties as assigned.CompetenciesProcess DrivenTeamworkCritically EvaluatesQualificationsAssociate or bachelors degree in a related electrical/software technical field is required and 3 years of experience in ladder logic networking and controls systems. Experience in PLC HMI and Microsoft Office Suite. Expert knowledge in electrical schematics piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) tags and symbols. Experience with Siemens Step 7 Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000 and Ladder Logic is preferred.Some experience in design aspects of P&IDs instrument ISA data sheets instrument installation details low voltage wiring physical conduit routing and cable tray design loop diagrams and wiring diagrams and schematics including motor control.Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk and sit; talk or hear in person and by telephone; use hands to finger handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stoop kneel bend crouch and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision depth perception color vision and the ability to adjust focus regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and to wet and/or humid conditions and occasional exposure to extreme cold.
