Job Description
Job SummaryTheAVP ALM Model Strategy will lead the design development and implementation of a base ALM Modelserving as the strategic architect for the companys nextgeneration ALMplatform. This individual will be responsible formodernizing model architectureevaluating ALM projection platform and build to improveefficiency and building enterpriselevel analytics across GAAPStatutoryandEconomicfinancial views.This position reports to the VP ALM and partners closely with the ChiefLiabilityOfficer VPModeling and Appointed AVP provides direct leadership to the ALM ModelBuildTeam and coordinates internalSMEs and externalconsultants to ensure successful delivery of a unified highperformance ALMmodel platform.Duties and ResponsibilitiesServe as the architect and overall technical lead for the ALM Model build designing a unified ALMmodel framework that supports GAAPStatandEconomicfinancial reporting.Translate strategic objectives into a clearly defined multiyear build roadmap and deliverable plan.Lead collaboration with VPlevel leaders across ALMModelingFinanceandRisk to ensure the model supports forecasting risk and capital management needs.Oversee ALM tool evaluations and design the futurestate runtimearchitecture.Direct design and development of the ALM Model architecture ensuring efficiency scalability and integration with existing datasources.Implement clear governance for assumptions inputs and methodology across all keyusecases(stress testing duration MYP and economiccapital).Establish streamlined user acceptance testingandchangemanagement procedures in line with ModelRiskManagement(MRM)standards.Manage internalandexternalresources to executeprogram deliverables ensuring balanced timelines and workload.Lead documentation and build transparencyforALM Model design assumptions andtestingapproach.Facilitate knowledge transfer and internal training to build sustainable capability beyond the build phase.Deliver regular status milestoneandriskupdatesto senior leadershipproviding analysis and recommendations atkeydecisionpoints.Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for modeling processesdataflowsandsystem integrations todriveefficiencyandresilience.Promote collaboration and accountability across crossfunctionalteams andmentorteam memberson technical andprofessionaldevelopment.Experience and Education RequirementsBachelorsDegreeinActuarialScienceMathematicsStatisticsFinanceorrelateddisciplinerequired.FellowoftheSocietyofActuaries(FSA)preferred;minimumASAdesignationrequired;MAAApreferred.10yearsofActuarial/ALMexperienceincludingatleast5yearsleadingprojectionorforecastingmodel development.Provenexperienceoverseeinglargescalemodelmodernizationormigrations(AXISexperiencestronglypreferred).SolidunderstandingofinvestmentmodelingconceptsALManalyticsliabilityprojectionmechanicsandfinancial reportingframeworks(GAAP&Statutory).Experiencemanagingandcollaboratingwithconsultantsandcrossfunctionalteams.Skills and AbilitiesBrings a strategic and architectural mindset designing for longterm scalability while maintaining a practical focus on nearterm delivery.Leads teams effectively through modernization and change communicating with clarity and purpose while fostering collaboration and trust.Demonstrates deep technical proficiency in actuarial projection modeling ALM processes and runtime optimization including expert use of AXIS and working knowledge of automation tools such as Python SQL andPowerBI.Collaborates across departments to align technical objectives with business goals influencing and creating strong crossfunctional partnerships.Focuses on results balancing disciplined governance with agility and driving large initiatives to completion within defined milestones.Communicates complex concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences tailoring information to support strategic decisionmaking.Develops and motivates a highperforming team emphasizing coaching continuous learning and accountability.Acts with integrity transparency and a deep commitment to accuracy and timely delivery.Pursues continuous improvement and champions innovation adopting new tools and methods to advance modeling efficiency and organizational effectiveness.#LI-JB1#LI-RemoteAdditional Information Work EnvironmentsF&G believes in an employee-centric flexible environment which is why we offer the ability for in-office hybrid and remote work arrangements.
