Backend Engineer at Riza

Riza runs it.Our customers run code billions of times a month on Riza to power use cases like extracting data from unknown formats by asking claude-3-7-sonnet to generate Python on-the-fly.We’re second-time founders, with decades of combined experience at Twilio, Stripe and Retool. We work out of a converted warehouse next to Tartine Manufactory in San Francisco. We’re looking to hire three to four engineers to join us in-person.The RoleWe run code at scale (billions of times a month). Our backend services need to elastically adapt to load while remaining flexible for rapid product development.We’re deployed on GCP with a mix of workloads across Cloud Run and Compute Engine. We don’t manually deploy; every commit gets pushed out automatically. We want to keep it that way. Our builds and CI are powered by Bazel. Might seem insane for a team of three, but it keeps our multi-language mono repo tame.
