Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Alsum Farms & Produce Inc., a grower, packer, and shipper of potatoes & onions located in Friesland, WI is looking for a full-time Quality Grader Lead (backup). As a Quality Grader Lead (backup), you will be responsible for grading, sorting, and classifying potatoes by size, weight, color, and condition. When the Quality Grader Lead is not working, you will act as the Quality Grader Lead.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Train new Quality Grader’s using the Company’s grading standardsSupervise with the set-up of bins and the changing of bins throughout the dayInform Management of any quality problems with the productEnsure employees have a full workload by scheduling production linesSort between inferior or defective products and acceptable products place in proper bins for further processingMaintain clean workspace by following master sanitation schedule each dayPerform other related duties as necessary or assignedEducation and Experience:Prior experience as a shift lead preferredJob Details:Job Type: Full-timeJob Schedule: Monday through Friday; 3:45 p.m. - 12:30 a.m. (or until done)Work Location: Friesland, WIRequirements:Required Skills and Abilities:Positive attitude and willingness to learnStrong communication skillsSelf-motivated and able to function as part of a teamAbility to utilize Human Resource Information System (HRIS) softwarePhysical and Environmental Demands:Prolonged periods standing and walkingVarious repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasksExposure to airborne particles or fumesExpected to remain alert and attentiveGood eyesight to ensure that potatoes are being graded to the best of the employee’s abilityStairs will need to be climbed throughout the day to access the grading lineMust wear safety glasses and hearing protection in designated areasOccasionally will need to lift up to 10 poundsAlsum BenefitsAlsum Farms & Produce offers its full-time (30 hours or more) employees:Employer contributed health planEmployer paid life insuranceVoluntary dental, life, disability, and vision insuranceOnsite fitness centerVacation and holiday payProfit sharing401(k) with company matchEmployee discountsEducational assistance programWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug Free Workplace
