BASES (Before and After School Extended Services) Part-Time Assistant Teacher Located in Vogel Wetmore School Torrington CT Job Description:EdAdvance is seeking a qualified applicant to work in the BASES (Before and After School Extended Services) Before School Program in Torrington. The qualified candidate will be professional have experience working with elementary school-aged children possess strong communication and interpersonal skills and be available during before-school hours (6:45 am- 8:45am). Vogel Wetmore staff are encouraged to Assistant Teacher works under the supervision of the Site Coordinator and the BASES Administrative Team. Major Responsibilities: Assist the Site Coordinator in the operation of the before school program daily Supervise children and provide a safe welcoming environment Maintain positive relationships with families children and school personnel Set up and clean up of program site First Aid/CPR/Meds Admin certification to be acquired within 3 months of hire Other duties as may be assigned Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position Qualifications: Requires High School Diploma or equivalent college course work in ECE/ELED or related field preferred Experience working with School Aged Children Knowledge of Child Development Awareness of Age-Appropriate curriculum activities Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills Priority given to current Vogel Wetmore School Employees Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for the entire shift and move through program space (indoor and outdoor) withstudents.
