Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) – Detox/ ResidentialLocation: 2219 W Euless BlvdSchedule: Full time 40 hours a weekReports To: Clinical Director or Program SupervisorPosition Summary:The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) plays a key role in supporting the therapeutic and recovery process of clients enrolled in the detox and Residential for alcohol and substance abuse. The BHT provides direct client supervision, ensures a safe and structured environment, and assists clinical staff in delivering individualized treatment services that support long-term recovery.Key Responsibilities:Monitor and document client behaviors, participation, and progress during daily programmingProvide supportive interventions and crisis de-escalation under the supervision of clinical staffAssist in facilitating group activities and therapeutic exercises as directedMaintain a safe, clean, and recovery-focused environmentSupervise medication self-administration and document appropriately (if certified and assigned)Conduct routine check-ins with clients and report significant observations to cliniciansSupport clients with daily living activities as needed, including transportation coordinationEnsure clients adhere to program schedules, policies, and behavioral expectationsMaintain accurate documentation, including shift notes, incident reports, and attendance logsCollaborate with clinical, medical, and administrative teams to support individualized care plansAttend staff meetings, trainings, and supervision sessions as requiredQualifications:High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field preferred1+ year of experience working in behavioral health or substance use treatment settings preferredCPR/First Aid certification required (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred (if transport duties are assigned)Knowledge of addiction recovery, 12-Step philosophy, and trauma-informed care is a plusStrong interpersonal, communication, and boundary-setting skillsAbility to remain calm and effective in crisis situationsWorking Conditions:Fast-paced clinical environment with direct client interactionMay involve transporting clients or supervising them during outdoor activitiesAbility to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs)TruDallas Detox is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace for staff and clients alike.
