Description Of Job DutiesThe Office of Student Engagement & Belonging Belonging Ambassador is a student worker who plays a vital role in educating their peers on topics of diversity inclusion microaggressions bias and social justice. The Belonging Ambassador serves as a resource to the campus and provides educational sessions. These topics will be tailored to educating students on race class gender sexuality access and more. The Belonging Ambassador is trained to facilitate inclusive and brave conversations. They are integral to enhancing our offices commitment to cultivating cross-cultural interpersonal relationships. Develop and implement educational programs and workshops that address multicultural issues. Develop and facilitate campus-wide open dialogue sessions that addresses a wide range of social justice diversity and inclusion topics each semester. Demonstrate a strong understanding of various cultures identities and perspectives. Stay informed about current issues related to diversity equity and inclusion. Assist in training sessions for students staff faculty or community members to enhance cultural awareness and understanding. Assist with heritage months and identity recognition programs. Collaborate with other campus or community organizations to create inclusive events and initiatives. Attend bi-weekly staff meetings. Host office hours for peer-to-peer dialogue that address a wide range of social justice diversity and inclusion topics. Be available for other duties as needed such as open/drop-in hours planning meetings professional development sessions and scheduled retreats. Attend all required spring 2026 and summer 2026 paraprofessional training sessions. Details of sessions will be provided by supervisor.Job Qualifications Maintain cumulative Grade Point Average of 2.5 or above. Maintain good student standing in terms of on and off-campus conduct. Confirmed plans for continued enrollment as a full-time student at North Central College for the 2026-2027 academic year. Show and articulate an appreciation of and commitment to diversity equity and inclusion. Informed about current issues related to diversity equity and inclusion. Demonstrate excellent oral presentation and dialogue facilitation skills. Ability to model effective and respectful communication. Ability to work in and contribute to a team-oriented environment.
