Location: Northbrook ILDivision/Department: Flavors R&DEmployment Type: Regular Full-timeAre you passionate about flavor innovation and beverage development Join Bell Flavors & Fragrances as a Beverage Applications Scientist!As a Beverage Scientist you will develop test and optimize flavors for a variety of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).Your Key Responsibilities:Develop test and optimize flavor systems for a wide range of beverages (carbonated drinks juices plant-based beverages RTD cocktails alcohol energy drinks and more)Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales marketing sensory and flavor creation) to support customer projects and internal initiativesAssist in flavor selection and application based on customer briefs market trends and regulatory requirementsPrepare samples for customer presentations and innovation showcases.Maintain detailed records of formulations and testing in laboratory information management systems (LIMS)Stay current on industry trends ingredients and processing technologiesEnsure lab safety cleanliness and compliance with regulatory standardsYour Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Food Science Chemistry or related field03 years of experience in beverage formulation product development or flavor applications lab (internships/co-ops count)Knowledge of beverage formulation basics emulsions acidulants sweeteners and functional ingredientsFamiliarity with analytical tools (pH meters refractometers titratable acidity)Sensory acuity and ability to describe flavor performanceStrong organizational mathematical and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing prioritiesTeam-oriented mindset with the ability to work independentlyPreferred Qualifications:Experience with alcoholic beverage formulation or TTB regulationsExperience with Genesis R&D Excel or LIMSKnowledge of ISO 9001 cGMP GLP standardsExperience with lab safety audits and regulatory documentationComputer proficiency and experience with laboratory data entryOccasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds (sometimes more)Perform repetitive tasks and precise equipment adjustmentsWork in environments with moderate noise and exposure to chemicalsWhy join us:Competitive salary range of $65000 - $75000Full-time benefits packageOpportunities for professional growth and developmentBe part of a supportive and collaborative teamCommitment to diversity and inclusionReady to shape the future of beverage innovation Apply today and join a team committed to safety quality and creativity!
