InternshipDescriptionUnder the direct supervision of an Intern Supervisor and existing leadership within the Behavioral Health Department the Graduate Student Intern provides support and services to clients of the primary care clinic 16 (or 24) hours per week for the academic school year from September 8th 2026 through May 15th 2027 exact dates depending. Additional hours for onboarding and orientation will be required between the dates of August 31st and September 4th 2026.PLEASE NOTE: Applications that do not include all of the required documentation will not be considered. Representative Duties:Provides direct services to clientsProvide evidenced-based screening/assessment and case management support to primary care patients as part of multidisciplinary teamSupport clients on caseload with a mix of SBIRT (Screening Brief Intervention Referral to Treatment) interventions under the supervision of Primary SupervisorDocument each client interaction within departmental window of compliance (48 hours) for review and co-signature by Intern SupervisorMaintain a caseload of 10 clients in Behavioral Health Integrated (BHI) Care (including individual therapy clients drop-in services triage assessments and low barrier therapy services)Offer at least 2 clinical hours in the evening (5-6pm)Provide drop-in behavioral health services for clients who utilize Fenways Access: Drug User Health ProgramAll clinical hours must be provided from on-site at 1340 Boylston St. or 359 Green St. though some of these sessions may be conducted via telehealthAdhere to NASW Code of EthicsParticipate in Intern ProgrammingParticipate in regularly scheduled individual supervision 1 hour per weekIncluding audio/written process recording activities as requestedAttend and contribute to Intern Group Supervision Meeting 1 hour per weekAttends and contributes to BH Department Case Disposition Meeting 1 hour per weekParticipate in cross-training and job shadowing activities outside of BHS team 1 hour per weekAttend Pod-Based Multidisciplinary team meetings 1 hour per weekAttend BHS team meetings 1 hour every other weekParticipate in BH Intern Training Seminars when topic is determined by training team to be applicable/indicatedAttend on-site Department Meetings quarterlyMeets Agency Participatory ExpectationsAdheres to all agency and departmental policies and procedures as appropriate including but not limited to the following as not doing so would result in termination of internship:Attendance and PunctualityDiscrimination Harassment Sexual Harassment and Workplace Bullying PolicyOccupational Health GuidelinesParticipates in quality assessment and improvement activities as requestedAdheres to the highest principles of patient and client confidentialityAdheres to established safety policies procedures and precautions; identifies potential or actual unsafe situations in the environment and takes measures to rectify the situationAttends all required meetings in-services and professional trainingsAttends all regularly scheduled research meetings trainings forums and pertinent FCH staff meetingsMaintains professional competence necessary to perform job responsibilities; maintains and provides agency with records of continuing education activitiesPerforms other related duties as requiredRequirementsActive enrollment in a graduate degree program in related field (e.g. Social Work or Counseling) required Flexibility adaptability and ability to multitaskCase management or human services related experience required Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience working within an ethnically culturally and racially diverse team Ability to work harmoniously with diverse groups of individuals requiredAbility to demonstrate emotional regulation of self foresee impacts of emotional expressions on others (peers colleagues and patients) and modulate emotional expression accordingly to support rapport building and professionalism in shared workspacesAbility to receive process and respond to feedback in both individual and group supervision spacesPreferred Qualifications:Ability to document timely and accurately in fast-paced environmentsPrevious advocacy/case management experience Previous medical clinical experienceExperience with LGBTQIA and/or HIVPhysical Requirements:Ability to meet the following physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodations:Sit at a computer station for extended periods of timeAbility to keyboard for extended periods of timeDocumentation to be Submitted with Application:In order to be considered complete application must include the following:Resume or CVList of graduate level course work completed1 letter of reference attesting to prior counseling and/or related experiencePLEASE NOTE: Applications that do not include all of the required documentation will not be considered.
