Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMIDDLE SCHOOL: GIRLS LACROSSE – ASSISTANT COACHPace Academy is an independent college preparatory school in Atlanta, Ga., with an enrollment of 1,150 students in Pre-First through 12th grade. Our commitment to a diverse, equitable and inclusive culture is reflected in a community in which differences are embraced, and students, parents, caregivers, faculty and staff have a sense of belonging.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Working closely with the Middle School head coach, the Middle School girls lacrosse assistant coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the girls lacrosse program. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and Georgia High School Association (GHSA). Duties include:Daily team coaching alongside the coaching staffRepresenting Pace Academy and the girls lacrosse program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanshipMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Possesses and maintains a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace AcademyCoaching experience and a solid understanding of how to work with student-athletes in grades six through eightDemonstrates a strong commitment to the student-athlete conceptEffective leadership and coaching skillsEmploys good communication skills with players, parents/caregivers and the Office of AthleticsIs energetic, self-motivated, flexible, punctual, dependable and a team playerWORK HOURS AND EXPECTATIONS:A part-time, January to April seasonal appointment. Responsibilities include practices four days a week (2 hours per commitment) and games on Saturday (2-3 hours per commitment). All coaches are employed on an annual basis, and continued employment is based on a seasonal review conducted by the Director of Athletics/varsity girls lacrosse head coach.
