Job Title: BI Solutions Architect Lead Engineer Location: Bloomington Indiana Experience: 12 Years Employment Type: Contract Interview Type: In-Person or Webcam Job Description We are looking for a highly experienced BI Solutions Architect Lead Engineer who can design develop and optimize enterprise business intelligence and analytics solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of data modeling BI platforms data integration cloud environments and modern analytics frameworks. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business leaders technical teams and data professionals to deliver scalable BI architectures that support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Design Lead the design and development of enterprise BI and analytics architecture. Create scalable data models semantic layers and multi-layered BI frameworks. Define architectural standards best practices and roadmap for BI solutions. Evaluate and select BI tools technologies and platforms. BI Development & Engineering Oversee development of dashboards visualizations reporting solutions and data models. Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines supporting the BI ecosystem. Implement data governance metadata management and data quality frameworks. Ensure BI solutions meet performance availability and security requirements. Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with business teams to translate requirements into BI solutions. Work with data engineering analytics cloud and application teams for end-to-end delivery. Lead technical discussions design reviews and solution workshops. Leadership & Guidance Mentor BI developers data engineers and analysts. Provide technical direction for BI projects and cross-functional initiatives. Prepare documentation architectural diagrams and development standards. Cloud & Modern Analytics Architect BI solutions on cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP). Leverage modern BI architectures such as data lakes lakehouses and real-time analytics. Integrate machine learning or predictive analytics where applicable. Required Skills and Qualifications Technical Skills 12 years of experience in BI architecture data engineering and analytics delivery. Expertise in BI platforms such as Power BI Tableau Qlik Looker or similar. Strong experience with SQL data modeling dimensional modeling and star/snowflake schemas. Hands-on experience building ETL/ELT solutions using tools like Informatica Talend SSIS Data Factory or similar. Proficiency in cloud ecosystems (Azure AWS or GCP) and cloud-native BI services. Strong understanding of data warehousing OLAP semantic models and query optimization. Experience working with modern data platforms such as Snowflake Databricks Redshift BigQuery or Synapse. Soft Skills Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to lead technical teams and manage multiple workstreams. Strong problem-solving analytical thinking and decision-making skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience with real-time analytics and streaming technologies. Knowledge of Python Spark or other analytics-related programming tools. Experience implementing BI governance and enterprise-wide standards. Consulting or enterprise-scale project experience.
