Bindery Machine Operator at Aerotek

JOB DESCRIPTION

Bindery Machine Operator

1st and 2nd Shift $22-24/hr

Key Responsibilities

  • Review work orders to determine specifications and instructions for bindery operations.
  • Set up and operate lamina machines to glue and press sheets prior to cutting.
  • Inspect stitched, collated, bound, and unbound products for defects, including:
    • Imperfect bindings
    • Ink spots
    • Torn or loose pages
    • Uncut threads
  • Perform hand bindery functions such as kitting and collating printed materials.
  • Trim product edges to size using cutting machines, trimming equipment, or hand cutters.
  • Stitch or glue endpapers, bindings, backings, and signatures using:
    • Sewing machines
    • Glue machines
    • Manual glue application tools (brushes)
  • Conduct quality inspections and determine whether products meet standards for acceptance or rejection.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area while following all safety and production procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Mechanically inclined with the ability to operate production machinery.
  • Prior experience in machine operation and bindery work.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely and repeatedly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in printing or bindery operations.
  • Previous experience working in a commercial printing company is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

  • Fast?paced printing and production facility.
  • Climate?controlled with heating and air conditioning; temperature may fluctuate when dock doors are open.
  • Well?lit, clean facility that may be loud at times due to machinery.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Minnetonka, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
